Bird In Hand Earrings - DISC

The Bird in Hand Earrings feature hand made Bird Clay Cameos on Bronze hands and gold filled posts; 2 inches tall by .75 inches wide.

Inspired by a relic from the Egyptian collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the bird image was first carved in wax and then used to create an impression in the clay resembling Italian intaglio engravings. One earring has a raised impression and the other is concave. Each is hung from a cast Bronze hand; one facing forward and the other backward. The earrings are a modern interpretation of a classic intaglio earring.
