Polished Ostrich Egg

First used thousands of years ago by the San people of Southern Africa to store water, the humble Ostrich egg has grown in popularity – particularly as a decorative accessory. These hatched eggs are sourced from ostrich farms across South Africa, where the ostrich is farm raised as a food source. Known as the strongest naturally-occurring structure, an unhatched egg is capable of supporting the weight of an adult human. We prefer to cluster them in a glass vase or one of our decorative bowls.
